Feeding families in my community
Life is full, busy and fulfilling right now.
By the grace of God, I was connected to a delightful, young family who drove 2 hours to come and pick up my 2 weanling ewe lambs yesterday. They arrived with their 3 children: the eldest daughter maybe 12 years old, the youngest son maybe 3.5, plus one daughter in the middle. They were teaching their children about animals, food, meat, and where it comes from. Teaching how to have respect for the things you eat and the life given to fill your plate.
The dad got out of the car, and when I shook his hand, he took my hand in both of his and held it, looked me in the eye, and thanked me for having them. He had a hat on which said, "Positive Vibes Only."
They loved the ranch. The kids played with the kittens while dad and I caught and dispatched the lambs.
It was a gorgeous sunny day here.
I anointed each lamb with Young Living's Frankincense oil and thanked them for their life.
The eldest daughter is planning to have a party where she will dig a pit and try her hand at pit roasting some of the lamb. She was so excited about the process.
My heart is so full that my lambs lived their entire lives in peace, on this beautiful property. To have them go on to serve and be respectfully used and enjoyed by this family overjoys me.
It is the best possible outcome in my eyes.
I gifted the young family a dozen eggs (which delighted them even further) and I hope to supply them with their organic lamb needs again next year.
My sheep farming venture has come full circle now.
What's more, and what I did not foresee about the sheep, is that it is another avenue for me to connect with others who are participating in "the shift". My community is assembling, connecting, tightening, growing. We are the ones who will bring forward the new world as the old facade crumbles.
We're doing it. Out here in the sunshine and tall grass, we are birthing it.
I am happy and fulfilled.
