Racing the Sun to the Pacific
The sun beat me to the sand this morning,
but not by much.
The Pacific was in rare form, for these parts.
She was so calm and so serene,
a person could have launched a kayak right from the beach.
The surface water so still,
that my presence on the landscape was felt.
Even the seals popped their heads up and watched,
entertained,
waiting to see what we were on about.
Or, maybe we were all just
soaking in the sun...
